About The Role
The HR Generalist at MI Windows and Doors plays a vital role in fostering a positive and productive work environment by providing comprehensive human resources support across various functional areas. This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who is passionate about employee relations and organizational development. The HR Generalist will collaborate closely with leadership and team members to align HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. The role involves supporting talent development initiatives, investigating employee relations cases, and utilizing HR data to identify opportunities for improving employee engagement and overall business performance. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide HR support and guidance to assigned manufacturing and business units, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support talent acquisition, retention, and development.
- Coach managers and supervisors on employee relations, performance management, and leadership development.
- Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
- Address employee relations issues by investigating concerns, mediating conflicts, and proposing appropriate solutions.
- Utilize HR analytics to diagnose organizational issues, identify trends, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Support recruitment efforts by participating in interviewing, onboarding, and orientation processes.
- Coordinate training programs and employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned to support the HR team and organizational needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant HR certifications (such as SHRM-CP, PHR) are a plus.
- 3-5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret HR data and metrics.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations applicable to manufacturing and corporate environments.
