Job description
Overview
Priory Hospital Kneesworth House in Royston, Hertfordshire is seeking a full-time Assistant Psychologist to join its Allied Health Professionals and Psychology team. This is a site-based role working 37.5 hours each week, with a salary of £26,300 per year.
The hospital is a purpose-built Level 2 rehabilitation service that provides multiple specialist recovery pathways on one site. It is well connected by public transport, with bus and train links nearby, and is approximately a 5-minute drive from Royston and 25 minutes from Cambridge.
What the role involves
You will support recovery-focused care by helping assess needs and contribute to treatment plans that maintain dignity, respect, and a high standard of support for service users.
- Assist psychologists with assessment work, case formulation, and delivery of psychological interventions.
- Help run and co-deliver therapeutic activities and interventions for service users under supervision.
- Keep accurate clinical notes and support multidisciplinary care planning.
- Contribute to research activity, service reviews, and data analysis projects.
- Work closely with colleagues to encourage effective psychological care and positive wellbeing outcomes.
What you need to bring
The essential requirement is the ability to use psychological knowledge and analytical thinking to understand situations and develop suitable solutions. The successful candidate should be able to apply learning from an undergraduate psychology degree and continue developing skills through supervised practice with an experienced HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist.
Salary and contract details
This is a full-time position with a salary of £26,300 per annum.
