About the role
As a Healthcare Assistant at Truly Dental in Moate, County Westmeath, you will support the clinical team in delivering excellent patient care and a smooth patient journey from arrival through to departure. Your role will involve assisting with dental procedures, helping maintain high infection prevention standards, and contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of the practice.
Key responsibilities
- Support dental clinicians with treatment setup, procedure assistance, and coordination of patient care.
- Check and observe patient wellbeing before, throughout, and after clinical treatment.
- Apply infection prevention measures and help uphold clinical support standards.
- Keep patient records accurate, secure, and GDPR-compliant.
- Assist in supervising and guiding junior healthcare support colleagues.
- Work with clinical leads on patient condition updates, medication information, and other relevant risk considerations.
- Help maintain health, safety, and clinical governance requirements.
- Contribute to staff learning, training, and capability building in patient care and emergency response.
Essential requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Science, or another related clinical field.
- Solid understanding of patient care, infection control, and clinical processes.
- Comfort working in a busy clinical setting with strong focus and accuracy.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Full legal permission to work in Ireland.
Desirable experience
- Previous work in a dental practice or primary care environment.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and GDPR responsibilities.
- Experience supporting, coaching, or mentoring junior clinical staff.
