Overview
Heritage Lifecare is hiring a permanent full-time Gardener to join its team at Harewood Road in Papanui, Christchurch. This role sits within the landscaping and groundskeeping space and is based in Christchurch City, Canterbury, New Zealand.

Role details
- This is a permanent full-time position.

What the role involves
The Gardener will be responsible for keeping lawns, gardens, and outdoor spaces in excellent condition. Day-to-day work includes mowing, edging, weed control, and broader garden upkeep to a high presentation standard. The position calls for someone dependable, approachable, and professional who values teamwork, a positive work ethic, and careful attention to detail.
Skills and experience
- Experience in gardening, landscaping, or mowing lawns is preferred.
- Knowledge of lawn maintenance, weed management, pruning, and routine garden care is preferred.
- Horticulture training or practical experience is preferred.
- Ability to work on your own and organise daily tasks effectively.
- Physical fitness for manual outdoor work.
- Strong eye for detail and commitment to high standards of presentation.
- Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and positive in approach.
- Clear communication and the ability to work well in a team.
- Initiative and basic problem-solving ability.
- Safe use of gardening tools and equipment.
- A full clean driver’s licence is required.
