Freelance Video Editor – Junior Remote Role

Role overview

You’ll join a fast-moving media and e-commerce team as a freelance video editor, producing content across food, business, and podcast formats. This is a part-time remote contract assignment with a strong focus on long-form source footage such as interviews, podcasts, and restaurant features, edited for several brands. The role is suited to someone who can help define the look and feel of new and existing shows while consistently turning out polished videos designed for social media audiences. Reliable editors may find this to be a steady, long-term opportunity.

What you’ll do

• Turn raw footage into 3 to 7 final vertical or horizontal edits each week, covering podcasts, interviews, and food-focused material.
• Prepare each cut for distribution on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube.
• Add animated captions and subtitles to improve viewer retention and engagement.
• Work from clear edit briefs delivered through an AI-supported briefing workflow.
• Keep up with deadlines of 48 to 72 hours per project.
• Coordinate with the team to preserve a unified visual identity across all content.
• Complete a paid test task during onboarding.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in video editing.
• Hands-on ability with Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
• Proven experience creating social-first edits for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube.
• Comfort working with animated captions and subtitles.
• Familiarity with AI tools, or a willingness to adapt to them.
• Strong planning and multitasking skills for handling several projects at once.
• Background editing food content or business creator content is preferred.
• Motion graphics ability is a strong advantage.
• Availability for 20 hours per week, with scope for more hours as demand increases.
• A dependable internet connection and the ability to work remotely.
