Job description

Role overview

This position oversees daily food service operations in a luxury hotel setting in Doha. The supervisor helps make sure the team works smoothly, guest expectations are met, and service standards remain consistently high.

Key duties

  • Coordinate the team so service is delivered efficiently and guest requirements are handled promptly.
  • Check staff presentation, including grooming and uniforms, and correct any gaps in standards.
  • Carry out opening and closing tasks such as preparing supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and work areas, and securing doors and related areas.
  • Review storage spaces for proper organization, cleanliness, and FIFO usage.
  • Track inventory, complete scheduled stock counts, and request supplies when needed.
  • Oversee dining areas for seating readiness, service flow, guest safety, and overall guest well-being.
  • Create and submit maintenance work requests when repairs are needed.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, and employee motivation.
  • Act as a key contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment and Open Door process.
  • Follow all company, safety, and security procedures, including reporting incidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
  • Complete required safety learning and certifications.
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential information and company property.
  • Welcome guests warmly, respond to service needs quickly, assist guests with disabilities, and express appreciation in a genuine manner.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Support teamwork, shared goals, and appropriate responses to colleagues’ concerns.
  • Meet quality standards and suggest improvements that raise efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Read information accurately in different formats and inspect tools or equipment visually for defects.
  • Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods during a shift and handle physical tasks such as lifting, moving, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items up to 50 pounds without help.
  • Use fine motor control to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of different sizes and weights.
  • Work in narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and move up and down stairs or service ramps.
  • Bend, twist, reach overhead or below the knees, stoop, and perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Experience and education

The preferred background includes a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of relevant work experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required for the role.
