Job description
About the Role
Target is seeking a strategic, imaginative, and culturally aware Experiential Marketing Lead with a focus on sport. This role owns the full lifecycle of experiential programs that elevate the Target brand through memorable live and hybrid moments, whether that involves introducing a designer collaboration, creating immersive style-driven experiences, or activating around meaningful cultural and sports-related events.
You will partner with teams across Brand & Category Marketing, Creative, PR, Talent & Influencer Partnerships, Media Strategy, and Social Media to ensure every campaign is culturally relevant, strategically grounded, and visually compelling. You will also work with agencies and creative partners to deliver high-energy activations that generate excitement, engagement, and stronger brand affinity in both physical and digital spaces.
What You’ll Do
- Own experiential planning and execution for sport-focused marketing initiatives from initial idea through final delivery.
- Design fan-first experiences and brand activations that resonate with athletes, local communities, sports audiences, and fans.
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders and outside partners so campaigns connect smoothly across all marketing touchpoints.
- Oversee timelines, budgets, agencies, and vendors while keeping work organized and on track.
- Shape creative output with a sharp sense of design, presentation, and brand style.
- Use audience insights, trends, and guest behavior to develop experiences that feel timely, relevant, and highly shareable.
- Measure performance, capture learnings, and apply those insights to future programs.
- Adapt to changing event formats by incorporating hybrid and digital extensions when appropriate.
About You
- You hold a bachelor’s degree or have equivalent practical experience.
- You bring at least 7 years of marketing experience, including deep hands-on experience in experiential marketing and strong knowledge of sports marketing, fan engagement, sponsorship activation, and live events.
- You collaborate well across functions and communicate ideas clearly in both conversations and presentations.
- You know how to build brand moments that extend successfully into PR, social, and digital channels.
- You are comfortable working in fast-moving environments and can adjust quickly when priorities change.
- You are resourceful, solution-focused, and meticulous about details.
- You are willing to travel and work flexible hours when needed to support activations.

Compensation and Benefits
The expected pay range for this role is $95,000 to $171,000 per year. Pay is determined by several factors, including labor market conditions and, in some cases, education, prior experience, and certifications.
Eligible team members and their dependents may receive a comprehensive benefits package that can include medical, vision, dental, life insurance, 401(k), employee discount, short-term disability, long-term disability, paid sick leave, paid national holidays, and paid vacation. Target also emphasizes support for financial well-being, education, and overall wellness.
