Facility Attendant 1 - L3

Overview

This position is part of a supply chain facility team focused on keeping distribution center operations running smoothly and supporting the fast movement of products to guests. The role combines minor maintenance, facility upkeep, safety awareness, and coordination with maintenance staff across the site.

Compensation

The starting pay for this role is USD 21.90 per hour. Depending on eligibility, team members may also receive a shift differential of USD 2.00 to USD 3.50 per hour. Pay may vary based on labor market conditions and, in some cases, education, work history, and certifications.

Key Duties

• Help maintenance technicians with mechanical preventive and corrective work across the facility, including servicing and repairing hand tools and small floor machines.
• Serve as a qualified electrical assistant for electrical safety procedures.
• Assist with installing and removing equipment and other items throughout the site.
• Inspect the inside and outside of the building to identify upkeep and repair needs.
• Replace PIT batteries, maintain battery equipment, record battery-related activities, and submit logs at the end of the shift.
• Clean, troubleshoot, and maintain Label Tec printers.
• Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment as needed.
• Build or repair facility assets such as furniture, shelving, racks, and workbenches using carpentry, welding, and fabrication skills.
• Handle plumbing-related tasks such as faucet and sprinkler work, and clean drains and sumps as required.
• Perform painting, drywall repair, patching, and small concrete repairs.
• Support preventive maintenance programs, including pest control, HVAC, and related recordkeeping.
• Remove cardboard bales, dispose of trash, and keep exterior and interior areas orderly.
• Operate snow removal equipment to clear walks, roads, and parking areas when assigned.
• Drive company vehicles for yard cleanup, incident response, vendor escorting, and parts pickup.
• Use equipment safely, apply proper lifting techniques, and respond quickly to spills to reduce accident risk.
• Complete requisitions, paperwork, and daily work-order logs.
• Use handheld devices and mobile applications to open and close work orders with correct labor, downtime, cause, remedy, and parts details.
• Follow safety rules and wear required PPE, including procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out and Arc Flash protection.
• Support sanitation and maintenance standards for industrial ammonia refrigeration where applicable.
• Carry out additional duties as business needs change.

Physical Requirements

This job requires the ability to lift and carry up to 47 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally, move around the site for up to 10 to 12 hours per shift, work in varied conditions including cold environments, dust, fumes, noise, vibration, and wet or uneven surfaces, access all parts of the distribution center including conveyor crossovers and mezzanine platforms, and maintain strong manual dexterity and coordination.

Candidate Profile

The role calls for someone who can work alone or with a team, communicate clearly, use basic math accurately, read labels and instructions, operate power equipment, use maintenance tools such as saws and drills, stay self-motivated, and work with limited supervision. A valid driver’s license for the state of employment is required.
