Role overview
This position is part of the Engineering & Facilities function at a luxury hospitality property in Ummahat Islands 2-3, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia. It is a full-time, non-management role with on-site duties.
Core duties
You will be responsible for scheduled preventive upkeep in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas. The work includes turning and checking mattresses and box springs, assembling bed frames, vacuuming behind and under furniture, removing spots from carpets and fabric, dusting, arranging artwork, placing furniture correctly, confirming that all equipment is present and working, replacing light fixtures, and inspecting and repairing seals and insulation.
You will also handle routine room care, repair, and cleaning in line with the hotel’s preventive maintenance standards and operating procedures. This includes small fixes such as tightening toilet seats, changing bulbs, and patching wall holes, as well as cleaning bathtubs, wall tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors.
Safety, conduct, and service standards
The role requires immediate escalation of major maintenance concerns, unusual findings, or safety risks to a manager or supervisor. You must follow all company safety and security policies, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions, and complete any required safety training and certifications.
You are expected to comply with all brand policies and procedures, wear a clean and complete uniform, maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, keep brand and hotel information confidential, and protect company property. Guest interaction is also part of the job, including welcoming guests in line with brand standards and responding proactively to their needs.
Teamwork, respect for quality standards, and constructive collaboration with colleagues are essential. The role may also involve other duties aligned with the position.
Physical requirements
This job involves frequent bending, kneeling, twisting, pulling, lowering, and reaching movements. You should be able to push, lift, carry, move, and place loads of up to 23 kg independently, and assist with heavier items when needed. The role also requires the ability to stand, sit, and remain active for long periods or for the full shift.
