Role Overview

The Deli Clerk plays a key part in delivering accurate, efficient, and friendly service while supporting a clean, safe, and well-run deli department. The role focuses on customer satisfaction, product handling, merchandising, and day-to-day operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow food safety rules, standard procedures, health and safety requirements, and company policies and programs.
  • Assist customers and respond to deli-related needs in a helpful and professional manner.
  • Keep the work area tidy, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Take and complete deli orders for customers.
  • Carry out product presentation, replenishment, and merchandising tasks.
  • Prepare and handle deli items according to department standards.
  • Support sales growth by promoting featured products.
  • Help train new or junior staff members when needed.
  • Order and receive stock following inventory control procedures.
  • Manage department shrink as required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in line with company expectations.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
