Customer Service Representative

About the Role

U-Haul is looking for a friendly, driven Customer Service Representative to join a team that supports customers throughout their rental journey. In this role, you will represent the company’s service standards, help inspect and maintain equipment, and use modern tools to dispatch and return equipment efficiently. The position includes on-the-job learning.

The company promotes a “Hire Fast, Pay Fast” approach, which means you may be able to begin work immediately and receive pay the same day. A hands-on working interview is available and is compensated. There is also a $100 hiring bonus, plus an additional $300 cash bonus paid right away after completing U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Support customers both inside and outside the U-Haul center with products and services
• Operate smartphone-based U-Scan tools to handle rentals and inventory tracking
• Move U-Haul trucks and trailers and connect them as needed
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels
• Answer customer questions and explain product and service options
• Prepare rental paperwork and process equipment returns
• Install hitches and trailer wiring
• Fill propane tanks, with certification provided after hiring
• Operate a forklift, with certification provided after hiring
• Perform other assigned tasks
• Continue learning through U-Haul University and ongoing company training

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid driver’s licence and a clean or maintainable driving record
• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification

Work Environment

This role involves moderate safety-related risks and occasional discomforts, such as working near moving machinery, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Use of protective equipment like masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be required.

Physical Requirements

The job can require extended periods of standing still, moving indoors and outdoors, reaching items at different heights, and handling equipment that weighs at least 50 lbs, either with assistance or independently.
