The job goes beyond driving: it involves helpful, friendly service and ensuring each delivery is handled with care. The work is active, practical, and varied, with no two shifts exactly alike. Most of the day is spent working independently, while support remains available from managers and colleagues at the store base.

The advertised working window is as follows:
- Sunday: 06:00 to 10:00
- Monday: 06:00 to 10:00
- Tuesday: 06:00 to 10:00
- Thursday: 06:00 to 10:00
- Friday: 06:00 to 10:00
Pay and Hours
Pay begins at £14.18 per hour, with a higher rate of £15.45 per hour in stores located within the M25. Certain locations may also include extra payments. A minimum of 16 hours per week is assured, although positions from 12 hours per week are also available.
Key Duties
As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will keep the vehicle and delivery equipment in good order, load goods safely, and make sure the van is checked and ready for use. You will speak with customers about substitutions, order changes, and short-dated products in a calm and helpful manner, including arranging refunds where required. Deliveries must be completed within the promised time slot, while maintaining a courteous and reassuring experience at the doorstep.
What You Need
This role calls for a positive, customer-focused approach and the ability to work well with colleagues. You should be comfortable adapting to changing situations while on the road and in-store, and you must hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
Benefits
Benefits include holiday entitlement starting at 20 days plus one personal day, increasing to 22 days after 12 months, along with Bank Holidays. Flexible working is available from day one. You will also receive 10% off with the Colleague Clubcard, rising to 15% on pay-day weekends, plus a second card for family use. Additional perks include free wellbeing support, life cover equal to five times your pay, and an award-winning pension with matching contributions up to 7.5%. You may also choose from a range of other benefits such as discounts, shares, and cycle-to-work options. Uniform is provided, and policies are in place to support important life events.
