Job description
Position Summary
This role supports the leadership of the food and consumables departments and their related processes. The position is responsible for handling questions and issues, helping build associate capability through coaching and training, and maintaining a strong standard of customer service while keeping work moving toward completion.
The team lead plans and carries out department activities according to the workload and operational needs of the business, and also supports sales floor work when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a positive customer experience by welcoming shoppers in a courteous, approachable way, helping them find items, promoting products and services, supporting purchase decisions, and resolving or escalating customer concerns when required.
- Help direct and coordinate task completion according to priorities shared by the Food & Consumables Coach and Store Management. Delegate work, support follow-up, and ensure daily Customer Availability process tasks are completed.
- Review the condition and presentation of Food & Consumables departments, identify gaps that need corrective action, and carry out merchandising or display updates where needed.
- Maintain clear communication with associates by leading the daily team huddle at the beginning of each shift, sharing updates, setting goals, and monitoring productivity.
- Review completed schedules with the People Lead.
- Assign associates to help maintain coverage and availability tasks across all areas of the store.
- Tour assigned areas with the Coach and team associates to spot training needs and support development through coaching, hands-on teaching, and feedback.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and hazard-free environment by following company policies and procedures, completing safety sweep logs, and making sure displays and fixtures are secure and clear of debris.
- Complete GTA/Workday tasks and provide additional support to management as needed.
- Work with the Coach and People Lead on performance management, growth conversations, and the recruitment and hiring of new associates.
Compensation
The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.25. The hourly rate is also stated in French as 20.25 per hour.

This is a full-time, onsite role based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. The primary work location is 80 Buchanan Dr, Charlottetown, PE C1E 2E5, Canada.
