Corporate Finance Adviser

Overview

We are partnering with a prominent semi-state organization to recruit a Corporate Finance Adviser. This role is responsible for delivering corporate finance expertise, financial analysis, and strategic advisory services to a range of commercially driven semi-state entities. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to review financial performance, assess investment proposals and capital spending plans, and develop commercially based recommendations to support shareholder oversight and foster long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and evaluate the financial performance of a portfolio of semi-state companies from the perspective of shareholders.
• Review annual budgets, business plans, management accounts, and statutory financial statements.
• Assess capital expenditure, funding, and financing proposals, offering advice on financial and commercial feasibility.
• Analyze investment opportunities including acquisitions, disposals, and strategic projects using valuation and financial modeling techniques.
• Perform detailed financial analysis, scenario assessments, and sensitivity testing to facilitate strategic decisions.
• Track critical financial indicators such as profitability, liquidity, leverage, and shareholder returns.
• Conduct market, industry, and competitor research to uncover emerging risks, trends, and opportunities.
• Develop high-quality reports, briefs, and presentations for senior management and governmental stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, government departments, and external partners.
• Contribute to corporate governance, sustainability initiatives, and long-term strategic planning efforts.
• Support continuous improvement activities and assist in refining financial policies, procedures, and reporting frameworks.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hold a recognized finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA, or their equivalent.
• Approximately five years of post-qualified experience in corporate finance, transaction services, financial advisory, audit, FP&A, or investment analysis.
• Strong competency in financial modeling, valuation methods, and data analysis.
• Capability to interpret complex financial data and clearly articulate insights.
• A commercial mindset paired with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Outstanding written and oral communication abilities.
• Proven expertise in managing stakeholders and building professional relationships.
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and adept at juggling multiple priorities.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
