Rixos Premium Qetaifan Island North is a luxury island destination created for guests seeking both relaxation and excitement. The property spans five acres of attractions and includes a waterpark, a private beach, a retail zone, a beach club, and a mix of casual and fine-dining restaurants.
Role Summary
The Chief Steward will lead and coordinate all stewarding activities, making sure kitchens, service zones, and back-of-house food and beverage areas consistently meet high standards for cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct stewarding activities to keep kitchens, storage rooms, dishwashing spaces, and equipment clean and sanitary.
- Set up and track cleaning routines, waste sorting practices, and pest control actions in line with HACCP and hotel requirements.
- Manage dishwashing processes, silverware polishing, and safe handling of kitchen tools and equipment.
- Make sure dishwashing machines, kitchen machinery, and cleaning chemicals are used correctly and maintained properly.
- Keep breakage under control and introduce steps that reduce unnecessary loss.
- Provide culinary and service teams with a steady supply of clean utensils, chinaware, glassware, and kitchen implements.
- Guide, coach, and encourage the stewarding team to deliver strong operational results.
- Create work schedules, assign duties, and review team performance regularly.
- Run training sessions covering hygiene practices, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
- Oversee the stewarding budget, including spending on chemicals, cleaning materials, and equipment.
- Track stock levels of stewarding supplies and raise replenishment requests when required.
- Ensure all stewarding work complies with HACCP, food safety rules, and local health regulations.
Qualifications
The role calls for prior experience as a Chief Steward in a five-star hotel or resort, along with a solid understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP standards. The ideal candidate should bring leadership ability, team management skills, good English communication, and the capacity to work in shifts, on weekends, and under pressure.
Additional Information
This position requires flexibility for shift-based work, including weekends, and the ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment. Other languages are considered an advantage.
