Rixos Premium Qetaifan Island North is positioned as a high-end island getaway in Doha, combining leisure, dining, and entertainment in one destination. The property spans five acres and includes a waterpark, private beach, retail space, beach club, and a range of casual and fine-dining outlets.
Role Summary
The Specialty Chef for Baklava will collaborate with the culinary team to support planning, ingredient provisioning for restaurants and banquets, menu creation, and related kitchen operations.
Key Duties
- Prepare a wide assortment of baklava, prioritizing authentic, high-quality taste while also introducing contemporary variations and new ingredients.
- Create, test, and improve baklava recipes by using seasonal produce and exploring distinctive fillings and flavor combinations.
- Keep taste, texture, and presentation uniform across every batch, making recipe or process adjustments whenever needed to maintain top standards.
- Coordinate with fellow kitchen staff to keep service running smoothly and provide support to other pastry team members when required.
- Contribute to ordering and stock control for ingredients used in baklava preparation, ensuring supplies remain sufficient and well managed.
- Present baklava attractively, with careful attention to plating, syrup application, and decorative finishing.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience working as a pastry chef, baker, or in a comparable position, with a strong focus on Middle Eastern sweets, especially baklava.
- Solid knowledge of baklava-making methods, ingredients, and suitable flavor combinations.
- Creative baking mindset with enthusiasm for trying new ideas and recipe concepts.
- Ability to perform effectively in a busy kitchen while upholding strong quality standards.
- Good communication skills and a cooperative, team-oriented approach.
- Awareness of food safety requirements and industry best practices.
