Job description

Role overview

Canon EMEA is looking for a Bid Factory Expert (m/w/d) to independently handle public tenders from intake through evaluation and completion, without direct involvement from sales during the process. The role combines the scope of a bid manager with the commercial accountability typically expected from a sales professional, including responsibility for tender strategy, pricing decisions, and coordination with pre-sales consulting as well as service and solution architects to address software, technical, and service-related requirements within the tender.

Once a contract has been signed, the role also ensures a structured handover into customer care. As part of the Bid Center, the Bid Factory Expert manages public tenders that meet defined thresholds and works continuously to improve the methods, processes, and tools used for bid management within the Bid Factory.

Collaboration

This position works closely with colleagues across the Bid Center, SBC, Sales Support, Pricing, Service and Solution Architecture, Business Operations, Legal, and other subject matter experts.

Working model

The role includes home-office work as part of the normal setup, while requiring presence in Krefeld for three days each week.

Culture and sustainability

The company emphasizes independent work with support, so employees are expected to take ownership without being left on their own. Sustainability is part of the corporate mindset through the principle of Kyosei, meaning living and working together for the common good, and this is actively practiced by employees.

Benefits

Employees can look forward to 30 days of annual leave, along with a broad range of additional offers and benefits.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, law, or a related discipline is required. Candidates should bring proven experience in bid management, public procurement, or tender management, ideally in IT services, as well as three to five years of relevant professional experience with exposure to sales strategy, pricing, and commercial decision-making.

Strong familiarity with public procurement regulations such as GWB, VgV, and UVgO, plus experience with e-procurement platforms, is needed. Excellent German and English communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential.

The ideal profile also includes strong analytical and strategic thinking, a commercial mindset paired with hands-on execution, negotiation skills, the ability to build a wide and effective internal network, a high level of accuracy, strong customer and target orientation, leadership capability, self-motivation, a results-driven and pragmatic approach, and assertiveness.

Applicants should be comfortable using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, along with MS Office and bid management tools.

The role is based in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
