Role Overview
The M&A Associate will support SolRiver's active acquisition of solar and storage projects, contributing to project evaluation, negotiation, and financial transaction execution within the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct, review, and rigorously test complex financial models related to project acquisitions, equity investments, and financing arrangements.
- Assist in negotiating, preparing, and finalizing transactional documents including letters of intent, term sheets, purchase and sale agreements, loan contracts, and joint venture agreements with project developers.
- Support project financing activities involving construction debt, term debt, and tax equity for portfolio projects.
- Oversee and coordinate external consultants such as appraisers, engineers, and tax/accounting professionals connected to project closures and valuation processes.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- A minimum of one year experience in investment banking, private equity, or energy finance is essential.
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of project finance principles, debt and equity deal structures, and the conditions for successful transaction completion.
- Highly detail-focused and diligent with an independent work ethic and accountability for deliverables.
- Effective at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, deal-driven environment.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret legal documentation.
- Willingness to commit to long hours as occasionally required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities, especially in delivering clear and concise updates to leadership and financial stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated starting salary ranges from 100000 to 150000 USD annually, with compensation dependent on experience, location, and skills. Total remuneration may include an annual bonus along with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, financial benefits, and 401(k) eligibility. Paid time off—including vacation, sick leave, and parental leave—is also offered. Employment terms include an at-will arrangement, and compensation may be adjusted based on performance and market conditions.
