Role Overview

The Assistant Manager, Accountant will manage core accounting activities, support reporting and compliance work, and help strengthen finance operations through accurate close processes, control enhancements, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a complete set of accounts, including journals, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting workings, so monthly and year-end close activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual statutory audit to support compliance requirements.
  • Partner with the tax function by supplying accurate and timely information and assisting with tax filing work to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare or review financial reports and submissions required by regulators.
  • Track financial indicators and other metrics as needed.
  • Support internal stakeholders with accounting and finance-related inputs.
  • Keep accounting policies up to date.
  • Take part in reviewing, improving, and implementing finance control processes.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal corporate policies and procedures, and applicable accounting standards.
  • Contribute to ad hoc finance projects as they arise.
  • Handle other finance-related duties assigned by the department.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in accounting, with 2 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Applicants with audit experience from a Big 4 firm are welcome.
  • Strong work ethic and professional attitude.
  • Self-driven, resourceful, and dependable in carrying responsibilities through to completion.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and focused on delivering results.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
