Overview

We are seeking a Materials and Process Engineer with expertise in composites and non-metallic materials to join our aerospace-focused team in Mississauga, Ontario. This role involves providing specialized technical support and guidance across material selection, manufacturing, and repair processes within aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert technical input on composite and non-metallic materials applied to aerospace products.
  • Assess and select appropriate materials for new developments and manufacturing workflows.
  • Support production and repair operations concerning composite structures and bonded assemblies.
  • Analyze material-related failures and recommend effective corrective measures.
  • Review and approve material specifications, test plans, and engineering reports to maintain quality standards.
  • Assist with qualification and certification of new materials and production techniques.

  • Provide expertise on processing, inspection, and repair methods for composite and non-metallic components.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing material performance and manufacturing efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or related fields such as Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or Chemistry.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience with composite materials and non-metallic systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of fibre-reinforced composites, thermoset and thermoplastic materials, adhesives, structural bonding, sealants, resin systems, and non-metallic to metallic joining techniques.
  • Familiarity with injection molding, compression molding, and stamp forming manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior aerospace industry experience.
  • Background supporting manufacturing and production environments.
  • Expertise in materials testing and failure analysis.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation capabilities.

  • Workweek: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Compensation: Hourly pay rate between $50 and $55, flexible based on experience.
