Role Summary and Expectations

The Lead Legal role is based in Mumbai and plays a crucial function within the Legal department of Aditya Birla Capital Limited. Primary Responsibilities

• Lead litigation activities involving the company, including developing strategies and managing case outcomes.
• Conduct thorough legal research, draft and review legal opinions, and critically analyze issues impacting the business.
• Support various central departments—HR, IT, Administration, Marketing, and Customer Service—on legal matters such as disputes, lawsuits, and potential risks.
• Collaborate with senior legal leadership to plan case approaches and liaise with external counsel or law firms as needed.
• Respond to notices received from customers, regulators, and statutory authorities including RBI, ED, EOW, SEBI, Income Tax, and Police.
• Execute settlement procedures by drafting and filing Settlement Deeds post-approval and engaging relevant business and risk teams.
• Develop, review, and enforce litigation policies and guidelines to ensure efficient and compliant legal processes.
• Maintain litigation management information systems (MIS) and ensure documentation is updated regularly.
