Role Summary and Expectations

The Lead Legal role is based in Mumbai and plays a crucial function within the Legal department of Aditya Birla Capital Limited. Primary Responsibilities

Lead litigation activities involving the company, including developing strategies and managing case outcomes.
Conduct thorough legal research, draft and review legal opinions, and critically analyze issues impacting the business.
Support various central departments—HR, IT, Administration, Marketing, and Customer Service—on legal matters such as disputes, lawsuits, and potential risks.
Collaborate with senior legal leadership to plan case approaches and liaise with external counsel or law firms as needed.
Respond to notices received from customers, regulators, and statutory authorities including RBI, ED, EOW, SEBI, Income Tax, and Police.
Execute settlement procedures by drafting and filing Settlement Deeds post-approval and engaging relevant business and risk teams.
Develop, review, and enforce litigation policies and guidelines to ensure efficient and compliant legal processes.
Maintain litigation management information systems (MIS) and ensure documentation is updated regularly.
