Role Overview
We are seeking a Transport Allocator and Administrator to join a reputable food distribution company located in Botany, New South Wales. This role demands strong organizational and time management abilities, a personable nature, and the flexibility to handle busy periods efficiently. The successful candidate will support the team through resilience and adaptability while delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the daily job roster using spreadsheets.
- Schedule, assign, and release tasks for drivers and subcontractors through an electronic system.
- Communicate proactively with clients to confirm trucking needs, provide schedule updates, and resolve issues before they escalate.
- Develop and nurture client relationships by understanding their requirements and ensuring thorough follow-up and service quality.
- Coordinate subcontractor availability to align with project requirements.
- Send task release notifications via SMS messaging.
- Handle inquiries from drivers, subcontractors, and clients effectively.
- Provide administrative support for major projects as needed.
Required Skills and Qualities
- Consistent punctuality and reliability.
- Experience in a Fleet Controller or Allocator role involving multi-drop runs.
- Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office, transport management systems, and Outlook.
- Exceptional attention to detail for accurate data handling.
- Problem-solving capabilities to handle issues efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Commitment to safety-focused work practices.
Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of two years in a similar transport allocation or fleet management role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the transport sector and related systems.
Additional Details
- Hourly pay ranges from $35 to $40 inclusive of casual loading.
- Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility for extra hours during peak times.
- Position is initially temporary with potential for permanent placement.
- Location based in Botany, NSW.
- Expected commencement in August.
