Operations Engineer - Water Features

Job Overview

This role entails overseeing the management and operation of facilities within an assigned portfolio, specifically focusing on water features. The goal is to ensure best practices in supplier and customer relations, facilities management, energy management, maintenance, and contract management to boost operational performance, maintain customer satisfaction, and meet business targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections to evaluate hard and specialist services at site locations and ensure all necessary documentation is current and complete.
• Coordinate and document preventive and reactive maintenance activities done by service providers, maintaining consistent communication to ensure adherence to schedules.
• Supervise specialist system operations to guarantee delivery of services aligns with service level agreements and performance indicators.
• Plan, organize, and review daily operational and maintenance tasks for all building MEP systems, monitoring their performance for optimal efficiency.
• Handle complaints and operational disturbances by liaising with facilities management, landlords, and tenants to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with approved building rules and community guidelines, maintaining all required site and departmental records.
• Communicate with residents as needed to manage disturbances and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Guarantee that all operations comply with safety standards and QHSE guidelines.
• Ensure fulfillment of all legal, statutory, and authority requirements related to building operations.
• Support the Facilities Manager with project implementations.
• Assist purchasing departments with equipment and property needs.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports including monthly inspections, KPI evaluations, and administrative/technical documentation.
• Monitor and improve energy consumption, identifying and applying energy-saving measures.
• Manage collaboration and communication among clients, stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare operational, incident, accident, maintenance, and technical reports regularly.
• Prepare and coordinate quotations and estimates with technicians to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure contractual deliverables are met on time and within scope.
• Identify and address training requirements for team members to maintain high-quality client service.
• Develop risk assessments, method statements, and fire safety plans in coordination with HSE departments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and system issues, documenting repairs appropriately.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4 to 5 years experience in Facilities Management or construction projects involving water features.
• Practical knowledge in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting water features such as fountains, ponds, waterfalls, along with pumping and filtration systems.
• Understanding of water treatment, quality management, pumps, valves, piping, filtration, and control for decorative water features.
• Experience managing preventive and corrective maintenance for water features and MEP systems.
• Preferred expertise with musical fountains, programmable water features, PLC/BMS integration, and lighting controllers.
• Awareness of safety standards, energy-efficient operations, and contractor coordination for water features.
• Familiar with Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems and MEP concepts.
