Operations Engineer

Job Overview

The Operations Engineer role is responsible for overseeing the facilities and operations within a designated portfolio. This involves implementing optimal supplier and customer relationship strategies, managing facilities and building energy services, supervising maintenance activities, and handling contract management to elevate operational efficiency, ensure high customer satisfaction, and support Enova's business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections at assigned site locations to assess the status of Hard and Specialist services, ensuring all necessary documentation is maintained.
• Organize, track, and ensure adherence to preventive and reactive maintenance schedules carried out by designated service providers through regular communication on-site.
• Supervise specialist systems, guaranteeing effective site service delivery aligned with Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.
• Plan, schedule, and evaluate daily operational and maintenance tasks for all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within buildings to maintain optimal system and equipment performance.
• Investigate and resolve complaints or disturbances by coordinating with facility management, landlords, and tenants.
• Ensure compliance with approved building rules and community guidelines and maintain all essential departmental and site documentation.
• Manage operations safely by following guidance from the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) team.
• Fulfill all legal, statutory, and authority requirements related to building operations.
• Support the Facilities Manager in project implementation efforts as needed.
• Collaborate with the purchasing department for procurement of equipment and property requirements.
• Generate and submit regular reports, including monthly inspection reports, KPI reports on AMC service providers, FM trackers of pending issues, and other administrative/technical documentation.
• Monitor and optimize energy consumption to reduce costs and enhance efficiency; identify and apply energy-saving initiatives.
• Manage relationships and communications with clients, stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory bodies within the area of responsibility.
• Prepare and submit varied reports such as maintenance schedules, operational and incident reports, accident reports, and technical evaluations.
• Develop quotations and estimates; coordinate with technicians to confirm their accuracy.
• Ensure service delivery aligns with contractual scopes and deadlines.
• Identify training needs for team members and oversee maintenance of a training schedule to ensure quality service provision.
• Coordinate preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and fire assessment plans alongside HSE.
• Address and resolve system and equipment issues at client facilities, documenting repairs through detailed reports.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6 to 8 years of technical maintenance experience with a focus on facilities management, specifically in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the UAE is mandatory.
• Understanding of statutory compliance requirements in facility management.
• Experience working in environments such as airports, museums, and critical facilities is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems.
• Proven expertise in managing MEP assets.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise teams comprising supervisors, technicians, and specialist subcontractors.
• Strong practical hands-on technical knowledge of MEP assets is essential.
• Professional certifications such as Facility Management Professional (FMP) from IFMA and IOSH qualification are preferred.
