Maintenance Technician

About the Role

This position is for a Maintenance Technician at the Theodore Cement Plant in AL. The technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical systems across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical systems facility-wide through various tasks.
• Oversee contractor workers and collaborate with them on maintenance activities.
• Support preventative maintenance and repair duties, including servicing and lubricating equipment when necessary.
• Engage in formal training and on-the-job learning to enhance both technical and soft skills, including cross-training.
• Rotate through scheduled shifts and weekend assignments as necessary.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a safety-conscious workplace culture.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferably holds 2 years of technical college education in a relevant field.
• Proficient with computers and related software systems.
• Possesses 2 to 4 years of industrial maintenance experience; 4 to 5 years preferred especially in chemical industry settings.
• Demonstrated skills in mechanical maintenance including troubleshooting air compressors, bearing and drive repair, equipment installation, lubrication, piping, rigging, welding, cutting, and fabrication.
• Valid Driver's License preferred.
• Willingness to assist other departments as required.
• Committed to strictly following all safety practices including proper use of PPE such as respirators and maintaining required grooming standards for respirator fit.
