About the Role
This position is for a Maintenance Technician at the Theodore Cement Plant in AL. The technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical systems across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain mechanical systems facility-wide through various tasks.
- Oversee contractor workers and collaborate with them on maintenance activities.
- Support preventative maintenance and repair duties, including servicing and lubricating equipment when necessary.
- Engage in formal training and on-the-job learning to enhance both technical and soft skills, including cross-training.
- Rotate through scheduled shifts and weekend assignments as necessary.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a safety-conscious workplace culture.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferably holds 2 years of technical college education in a relevant field.
- Proficient with computers and related software systems.
- Possesses 2 to 4 years of industrial maintenance experience; 4 to 5 years preferred especially in chemical industry settings.
- Demonstrated skills in mechanical maintenance including troubleshooting air compressors, bearing and drive repair, equipment installation, lubrication, piping, rigging, welding, cutting, and fabrication.
- Valid Driver's License preferred.
- Willingness to assist other departments as required.
- Committed to strictly following all safety practices including proper use of PPE such as respirators and maintaining required grooming standards for respirator fit.
