About Old Schoolhouse Brewery
Established in 2008, Old Schoolhouse Brewery crafts award-winning beers in Washington's Methow Valley. Operating a production brewery alongside three hospitality venues, they produce an extensive range of craft beers while serving a picturesque mountain community in the Pacific Northwest.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate brewer dedicated to quality, consistency, and ongoing learning. This role offers the chance to join an intimate, cooperative brewing team to help create nationally acclaimed craft beers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct all daily beer production activities including brewing, cellar operations, packaging, sanitation, quality control, and equipment upkeep.
- Work collaboratively with the brewing team and Owner/Brewmaster to gain hands-on experience throughout all stages of commercial brewing.
- Take substantial responsibility for brewed beer quality and participate in pilots and recipe innovation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized brewery environment.
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in a commercial brewery or equivalent production setting.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial brewing procedures and sanitation protocols.
- Ability to precisely execute recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Mechanical skills and aptitude for problem-solving.
- Strong work ethic, a positive outlook, and physical ability to lift over 55 pounds repeatedly.
- Comfort with working in conditions that are hot, cold, wet, and physically demanding.
- Forklift operation experience or willingness to obtain certification.
Preferred Experience
- Operation of commercial brewhouse equipment.
- Expertise in cellar work including fermentation and yeast management.
- Knowledge of packaging lines and draft systems.
- Basic maintenance, troubleshooting, yeast harvesting, and propagation skills.
- Formal brewing education or comparable professional experience.
- Strong enthusiasm for craft beer and continuous skill development.
