Position Overview
Rolls-Royce is seeking a dedicated Customer and Product Training Instructor based in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time role requires passionate individuals ready to contribute to a leading engineering company focused on power and propulsion solutions. The Instructor will act as a Subject Matter Expert, responsible for creating, developing, and delivering comprehensive learning initiatives for both internal staff and external customers, thereby enhancing knowledge and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Customer and Product Training Team to design impactful and engaging learning materials tailored to diverse audiences.
- Conduct and facilitate product and service training sessions, workshops, and seminars in-person and remotely, ensuring compliance with technical standards and company quality benchmarks.
- Engage with Customer Facing Business Units (CFBU), working alongside technical and commercial managers to address specific customer training requirements through customized programs.
- Manage project deliverables using project management tools, monitoring progress, resolving challenges, and coordinating resources to meet deadlines for significant projects.
- Maintain high standards in training activities, ensuring alignment with Rolls-Royce policies and pursuing continuous improvement based on effectiveness assessments.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with stakeholders to understand needs, delivering training solutions that drive performance enhancements.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Associate degree plus over 4 years of experience in gas turbine engines or related operations, or
- Bachelor's degree with more than 2 years of relevant experience, or
- At least 6 years of practical experience in gas turbine engines or product/service training without a formal degree.
- Must be a US citizen eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- FAA Certified Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certificate or an equivalent international aviation maintenance license (e.g., EASA Part-66 B1/B2, Transport Canada AME license).
- Alternatively, candidates may qualify without an FAA A&P certificate if meeting certain military or civilian aviation maintenance experience or vocational training criteria.
- Strong communication and presentation skills adaptable to varied audiences.
- Physical capability to manage tools and equipment carefully, accurately distinguish colors, and safely lift weights up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Attributes
- Familiarity with instructional design and training methodology.
- Relevant technical certifications or experience specific to Rolls-Royce’s products.
- Prior experience as an instructor in aviation or similar technical industries.
- Project management proficiencies for coordinating complex training initiatives across teams.
- Ability to modify training content to meet cultural, technical, and legal standards worldwide.
- Comfortable with working at heights using equipment like ladders or scaffolding.

Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role. The position demands up to 50% domestic and international travel availability.
