About the Hospital and Team
Gladstone Hospital's Operational Services team is essential in ensuring the smooth functioning of the hospital environment, enabling clinical staff to concentrate fully on patient care. This team supports various services at Gladstone Hospital, Gladstone Community Health Service, and nearby facilities, covering food services, cleaning, ward assistance, porterage, linen and waste management, along with fire, safety and security duties.
Role Overview
As a member of the Ward Services team, you will play a pivotal behind-the-scenes role. Your tasks include aiding patient transfers, moving medical equipment, providing support to Operating Theatres, and contributing to a secure and efficient setting for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Assist patients with transfers and porterage, ensuring their safe arrival to appointments and treatment units.
- Collaborate closely with nurses and healthcare professionals to support patient care, including lifting, turning, escorting, shaving, and helping with personal hygiene.
- Carry out a variety of non-clinical duties that aid clinical teams in delivering excellent care.
- Perform cleaning duties in assigned areas to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage range from $40.42 to $43.12.
