Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and upgrading a variety of telecommunications systems including traditional phone lines, fiber optics, wireless, and satellite technologies. This role demands a strong knowledge of communications technology, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent organizational and communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, operate, and maintain voice and data telecommunications network circuits and related equipment.
- Plan network installations by reviewing customer orders, technical specifications, and site assessments; prepare installation diagrams; and procure necessary equipment and materials.
- Establish voice and data networks through cable pulling, terminating, splicing, and equipment setup including routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, and alarm/fire systems.
- Program telecommunications features; activate remote access tools; coordinate installation activities with contractors ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Test circuits, equipment, and alarms to verify services, troubleshoot issues, and escalate problems when necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation including labeling equipment, routing cables, and recording configuration diagrams and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot network outages, maintain backup procedures, and keep network services functional.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns and questions professionally.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations, codes, and legal requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage inventory by tracking supplies, placing orders, and confirming deliveries to ensure readiness.
- Continually upgrade skills and knowledge through training and technical literature review.
- Take initiative in improving department performance by embracing new tasks and seeking opportunities to contribute added value.
- Travel Commitment: This role requires frequent travel estimated up to 75% of working time to support business operations and client needs.

Required Qualifications
- At least five years of specialized experience in telecommunications, IT support, or a similar technical field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and function effectively as part of a team.
- Must be a U.S. citizen eligible to obtain a public trust security clearance.
