Technical Program Manager

About the Role

Tesla is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join their Vehicle Assembly team, a group of expert engineers responsible for the creation and deployment of assembly equipment used in Tesla vehicles worldwide. This position involves ownership of technical projects from inception to completion, overseeing the design, execution, and integration of new manufacturing lines at Tesla’s factories globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish program objectives and unify strategies with manufacturing teams to manage projects from concept through validation to full production deployment.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines, including project, industrial, design, controls, and software engineering, throughout all phases of project development, testing, and integration.
• Lead defining product requirements and manufacturing solutions in partnership with infrastructure, logistics, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure project success.
• Set clear targets, monitor progress, assess risks, and develop mitigation plans during all project stages.
• Manage the execution and timely completion of multiple concurrent projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Identify and communicate resource needs and gaps across project lifecycles.
• Provide detailed progress reports, addressing status, risks, and opportunities to all management levels internally, and maintain project roadmaps aligned with overall program goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is mandatory.
• Proven experience in technical program or project management, specifically delivering medium to large capital equipment projects valued from $1M to over $25M.
• Familiarity with creating tailored processes and methodologies to optimize engineering workflows is beneficial.
• Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes spanning low to high volume production.
• Experience with JIRA and continuous integration systems is advantageous.

Compensation

The annual salary for this position ranges from $112,000 to $217,200, supplemented by cash bonuses, stock awards, and a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and experience.
