Role overview
This position focuses on electrical engineering work covering study, design, specification, and support services for electrical and electronic systems.
Scope of work
The role includes involvement with power generation, transmission and distribution, power system performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centres, communications systems, cathodic protection, grounding, lightning protection, and heat tracing.
What you will do
- Apply established engineering methods, procedures, and criteria while working under close supervision.
- Make minor adjustments and modifications using sound engineering judgment.
- Support the design of larger and more complex assignments as experience grows within the functional area.
- Contribute to conventional studies, investigations, and surveys with limited complexity and existing precedents.
- Take part in activities such as design development, testing of materials, preparing or reviewing calculations and specifications, research studies, report writing, and other limited-scope engineering tasks.
Experience and qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering is typically expected, along with at least 10 years of relevant experience. The usual experience range for this role is 8 to 10 years. Engineer-in-Training certification is preferred.
