Lead Estimator

Role overview

What you will do

• Lead a team of estimators assigned to the work and coordinate estimating tasks for preliminary or detailed project estimates.
• Build estimates using historical data, labor availability, productivity assumptions, and current material pricing.
• Prepare and review cost studies, cash flow projections, and prospect analysis.
• Set task priorities, assign work, and help ensure deadlines are met.
• Use judgment to assess internal and external factors and translate them into practical estimating approaches.
• Support and direct resources as needed while coaching less experienced team members.
• Carry out estimating work in line with company policies, procedures, and broader business objectives.

Qualifications and experience

This position typically requires an undergraduate degree along with more than 10 years of relevant estimating experience. The role depends on strong interpersonal ability, broad estimating knowledge, and the capacity to complete work accurately and in compliance with established standards.
