Role summary

AbbVie is looking for a proactive and highly detail-focused QC Lab Supervisor for its site on Manorhamilton Road in Sligo. What you will do

  • Lead, support, and develop a team of 8 to 12 analysts.

  • Coach analysts to improve individual and team performance.
  • Increase team productivity while meeting compliance deadlines.
  • Work with the lab manager to strengthen overall laboratory performance.

  • Maintain strong 5S standards and help build a culture of quality.
  • Ensure equipment is used correctly and maintained properly.
  • Contribute to lab projects and assist in developing procedures.
  • Follow EHS expectations and compendial testing requirements.

  • Keep the laboratory safe and ready for inspections at all times.
  • Take part in internal and external inspection activities.
  • Direct laboratory investigations, root cause analysis, and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Communicate effectively with supply chain, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, ideally analytical chemistry.
  • At least 4 years of analytical experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Hands-on expertise with HPLC, GC, and other analytical methods.
  • Strong understanding of regulations and practical experience with analytical equipment.

Working pattern

This role follows a 12-hour day shift schedule from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. The roster includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday every second weekend.
