Role Overview
We are looking to hire a dependable and detail-oriented Stores Team Member to join our Head Office team. This full-time position reports to the Transport Manager and plays a crucial role in managing stock logistics to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming deliveries, verifying quantity, condition, temperature, and accuracy against delivery documentation
- Accurately record goods received using company inventory systems
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the stores, warehouse, and yard areas
- Store items correctly by following safe stacking, labeling, and location protocols
- Efficiently pick and issue stock as needed
- Conduct routine stock counts, cycle checks, and assist with comprehensive stock audits
- Investigate and report discrepancies or variances in stock records
- Monitor stock levels keenly and report shortages or trends to management
- Manage pallets, waste materials, recycling processes, and maintain safety in the external yard area
- Safely load and unload vehicles when required
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, subject to training and certification
- Adhere strictly to health and safety standards including personal protective equipment usage and safe manual handling practices
- Complete all required training programs and support broader operational functions as necessary
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in stores, warehouse, or stock control settings is preferred
- Highly detail-oriented with strong skills in counting and record accuracy
- Well-organized and capable of maintaining orderly stock control systems
- Comfortable with basic inventory software and goods receipt processes
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with drivers and site teams
- Strong awareness and commitment to health and safety, including correct manual handling techniques
- Physically fit to handle lifting and stock movement duties within yard and warehouse environments
- Proactive, positive attitude focused on upholding high operational standards
An FLT license for Counterbalance and/or Reach forklifts is advantageous, or candidates should be willing to receive training if needed.
