About the role

Absa Group is hiring a Relationship Manager for Agribusiness in Tanzania. The role focuses on expanding the asset financing portfolio, originating new business, assessing credit applications from branches, shaping asset financing propositions, and making sure approved loans are booked with strong quality.

Business growth

  • Expand asset financing volume and value by spotting and building new commercial opportunities.
  • Work with clients, dealers, suppliers, government bodies, insurers, and other financial institutions to protect the Bank’s interests.
  • Partner with branch teams and Head Office colleagues to grow the asset financing portfolio.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to deliver approved asset financing deals and related propositions.
  • Stay current on Tanzania’s asset financing market, customer needs, and financing demand for vehicles, equipment, machinery, and other eligible assets.
  • Prepare business cases and proposals, and track portfolio development over time.
  • Keep customers informed about asset financing products, fees, and pricing.
  • Contribute leadership to the development of asset financing strategy.

Product development

  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to design new asset financing products and propositions.
  • Maintain the asset financing product catalogue.
  • Review monthly product performance reports to understand results and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work with the Product team to periodically reassess pricing so offerings remain competitive.

Risk management

  • Handle asset financing queries and provide information needed for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure every engagement follows asset financing guidelines.
  • Monitor asset financing loan performance each month and advise branches on fast action for delinquent accounts.
  • Work with branches to ensure all approved loan terms and conditions are properly followed.

Education and experience
