Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and grade trench bases to ensure proper pipe placement
- Lay, align, and position pipe sections accurately
- Connect lines such as sewer, water, and storm sewer pipelines
- Verify slopes meet project requirements
- Perform manual digging and pipe-setting tasks
Key Skills
- Use precision tools including lasers and transit levels to determine trench grades
- Operate pipe cutting equipment for various piping materials
- Handle small powered equipment like tampers
- Cut, fit, and seal different types of pipes properly
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pipelayer
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel during the week based on operational needs
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to successfully clear pre-employment drug screening and background checks
Working Hours and Conditions
This full-time, non-exempt role primarily involves Monday through Friday shifts but may require evenings, weekends, holidays, or shift work as needed to meet job demands.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage ranges from $23 to $28, dependent on experience, qualifications, certifications, education, and location.
