Role Overview

The Onsite Computer Technician will represent Geekify in the field, providing direct support to residential and commercial customers throughout Canberra and nearby regions. This role involves traveling independently to client sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair various hardware and software issues. It suits a technically skilled problem solver who enjoys customer interaction and delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prompt and high-quality technical assistance at client locations.
• Troubleshoot, service, and repair desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
• Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Set up wireless routers, network printers, smart home devices, and backup systems.
• Communicate technical details clearly to clients; provide preventative advice and identify sales opportunities for hardware or software enhancements.
• Maintain detailed logs of service tasks, solutions, and parts usage in the company ticketing system.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in computer hardware repair, maintenance, and operating system troubleshooting.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
• Ability to recognize client requirements and suggest beneficial upgrades or maintenance plans.
• Self-motivated and well-organized with the capability to effectively manage daily schedules and task priorities.
• Possession of a valid Australian driver’s license and access to a dependable vehicle is essential.

Preferred Credentials

• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certifications or related technical diplomas are advantageous.
