Position Overview

The role of Lifeguard at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts involves vigilant supervision of swimmers to ensure safety, employing effective rescue methods when necessary. The candidate will monitor the pool environment for hazards and guide guests in following facility rules. An essential part of the job is to create a safe, enjoyable atmosphere while promptly assisting injured individuals until professional medical help arrives.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement rescue techniques when swimmers are in distress.
• Continuously observe swimming areas for unsafe conditions and activities.
• Communicate and enforce pool regulations to guests.
• Identify scenarios where guests may be at risk and promptly report to supervisors.
• Provide first aid and assist injured guests until emergency services take over.
• Maintain cleanliness by handling towels and cleaning the pool deck.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management immediately.
• Complete mandatory safety trainings and certifications.
• Follow company policies while protecting confidential information and assets.
• Deliver professional, warm guest service, including assisting guests with disabilities.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor adhering to company standards.
• Communicate clearly and courteously with guests and coworkers.
• Demonstrate respect and support for colleagues.
• Comply with quality assurance standards.
• Inspect equipment and tools for defects regularly.
• Be physically capable of standing, walking, and moving across various surfaces for extended periods.
• Lift and move objects up to 50 pounds independently, heavier with assistance.
• Perform physical movements including bending, twisting, reaching overhead and below knees as part of duties.
• Complete additional reasonable tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No previous work or supervisory experience required.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certifications mandatory.
• Certification or training aligned with local and state regulations required.
