Investment Analyst

About the Role

We are looking to hire an Investment Analyst to support a rapidly expanding renewable energy company operating across Ireland. This role offers an exciting chance to work within a dynamic platform that merges energy, investment, and infrastructure sectors. The selected individual will be instrumental in driving investment-related tasks such as conducting valuations, due diligence, project financing, market research, and preparing investment proposals. Collaboration with operational teams, commercial stakeholders, strategic investors, and project collaborators will be essential as the company grows.

Remote applicants residing in Ireland will be considered, with the expectation of travelling to the Dublin office approximately once monthly.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive risk-adjusted valuation models incorporating commercial, technical, financial, tax, and due diligence data.
• Assist with due diligence and project acquisition processes alongside project financing efforts when applicable.
• Contribute to the formation of investment cases to be presented to management and board members for approval.
• Perform detailed regional market and competitor analyses to identify potential new projects.
• Collaborate with operations teams to evaluate asset performance post-commissioning.
• Aid negotiations with vendors, joint venture partners, and financing bodies.
• Assist in preparing board presentations and reports for strategic investors.

Candidate Requirements

• A degree with honours in finance, engineering, science, or a closely related field.
• Between three and five years of relevant experience in energy finance, investment banking, project finance, or mergers and acquisitions.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and ability to analyze deals from an equity holder’s perspective.
• Strong comprehension of the key factors influencing value and returns throughout the lifecycle from development to operational phases.
• Excellent skills in analysis, written communication, and presentation.
• Team-oriented mindset with an ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving environment.
