Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and proactive Finance Operations Manager to lead a team of 14 professionals managing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger functions. This key leadership role demands both operational excellence in financial processes and strategic partnership with organisational leaders to uphold financial integrity, compliance, and insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the Finance Services team to ensure smooth operations across payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger.
- Provide high-level financial management including reporting, budgeting, and maintaining rigorous internal controls.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Head of Finance and non-finance managers.
- Drive compliance and risk management processes ensuring organisational financial integrity.
- Support strategic business partnering by offering financial insights and solutions to enable effective decision-making.
Candidate Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience.
- At least three years’ experience in a senior finance role with proven people management skills.
- Strong technical accounting expertise and a comprehensive understanding of financial compliance and risk.
- Experience in health, social care, or intellectual disability services finance is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional leadership qualities combined with a collaborative and agile approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of people with intellectual disabilities.
Additional Information
- Reports to Head of Finance West Region.
- Working 70 hours per fortnight on a Monday to Friday schedule, with hours possibly extending between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. as needed for service demands.
- Annual leave entitlement of 30 days per year.
- Participates in the Corlann Contributory Superannuation Scheme linked to the Public Service Pension Scheme.
- The role is full-time, permanent, pensionable with a probation period of nine months.
- Travel to be performed using personal vehicle with indemnity insurance; travel expenses reimbursed according to policy. Base location is Kilcornan House, Clarinbridge, Co. Galway.
- Salary ranges from €80,676 to €94,338 gross annually, with long service increments after three and six years increasing salary up to €100,693 per annum.
