Job description

Overview

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville is seeking a dedicated Facilities Support Associate to deliver comprehensive maintenance and custodial services at both Oneida and Huntsville campuses from Monday through Friday.

Key Duties

  • Thoroughly clean all restroom facilities, ensuring hygiene and supplies such as paper products and hand soap are consistently stocked.
  • Maintain floors by cleaning, buffing, and waxing as needed, and promptly address spills and safety hazards with appropriate equipment.
  • Remove waste from classrooms, workshops, offices, and communal areas to maintain cleanliness.
  • Sanitize workspaces to minimize the risk of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases transmission.
  • Perform groundskeeping duties including mowing and landscaping upkeep to keep surroundings well-maintained.
  • Conduct minor maintenance tasks including painting, replacing filters and light bulbs, and other related duties.
  • Secure campus buildings by closing and locking them each evening.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or HiSET (GED) equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years of prior experience in custodial or maintenance roles.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory position.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Capability to adapt to changing task priorities and simultaneously manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and guidelines, including familiarity with OSHA and TOSHA standards.
  • Physical ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety data sheets, operating instructions, procedures, and equipment manuals.
  • Competence to work independently or collaboratively in a team, with capability to serve as a crew leader.
