Job description
General Overview
This role involves performing environmental testing and sampling across various materials such as air, groundwater, building materials, and noise levels. The technician operates monitoring equipment in the field, supports remediation system operations and maintenance, and may participate in asbestos surveys, abatement initiatives, and Phase I preliminary site evaluations. Transportation of samples and documentation to laboratories for detailed analysis is part of the work, along with data tabulation for reporting and regular equipment upkeep. Strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute basic testing procedures as assigned, following clear guidelines.
- Assist with basic data collection related to surveys and measurements.
- Support the operation and upkeep of remediation systems.
- Contribute to the construction of groundwater monitoring wells.
- Collaborate with senior technicians on complex projects.
- Engage in progressively expanded training and assume increasing responsibilities.
- Maintain compliance with safety policies, participate in safety planning, and report any concerns to management.
- Ensure quality standards are consistently met across all projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of high school diploma or an equivalent certification.
- Between zero and two years of relevant experience or equivalent training in the field.
- A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record may be necessary.
- Preferably holds certifications relevant to the environmental field.
