About the Role

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) delivers advanced systems engineering, software development, training solutions, and complex program management to global security, civil, and commercial sectors. Our mission is to be the foremost global security and aerospace company.

We are currently looking for a Cost Analyst experienced in proposal pricing and cost analysis to join our team in Havant, Hampshire. This role involves comprehensive tasks related to analysing and presenting cost details for proposals within the project team to secure executive approvals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analyses of supplier proposals for integration into broader customer proposals.
  • Conduct 'should cost' assessments on competitors, suppliers, and Lockheed Martin activities.
  • Support various price-to-win strategies, supplier cost evaluations, fact-finding missions, design-to-cost exercises, business case financial analysis, lifecycle cost evaluations, and financial modelling.
  • Brief management on the validity of supplier quotations, highlighting risks and advantages.
  • Serve as a liaison between proposal pricing, engineering, and subcontract program management teams.
  • Coordinate supplier data collection for pricing proposals.
  • Ensure Requests For Proposals dispatched to suppliers contain all necessary information to satisfy Lockheed Martin proposal requirements.
  • Conduct financial analyses of Lockheed Martin proposals factoring in supplier and company cost data.
  • Configure proposals within Lockheed Martin’s pricing system (ProPricer).
  • Manage bases of estimate inputs into ProPricer and review cost inputs, detecting financial risks and opportunities.
  • Gain proficiency in Lockheed Martin’s pricing rate framework and adjust standard rates when needed for proposals.
  • Analyze foreign currency components, prepare adequate reserves, identify hedging requirements, and provide reports to corporate treasury.
  • Determine required executive approvals and organize approval meetings.
  • Present pricing information during approval and secure requisite approvals for record-keeping.
  • Monitor compliance with corporate policies, site procedures, and departmental processes.
  • Meet proposal deadlines with timely analyses, reviews, and approvals.
  • Communicate identified risks and opportunities effectively.
  • Engage in administrative duties to maintain precise and comprehensive departmental records.
  • Produce sensitivity analyses on various financial and non-financial factors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, or equivalent education combined with experience.
  • Six years of professional experience or four years with a related Master’s degree, at a career or mid-level.
  • Strong familiarity with industry-standard principles, concepts, and company practices is essential.
  • Experience in developing solutions for complex cost-related challenges.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and organize activities to meet targets and goals.
  • Proven influence on operational objectives and results.
  • Experience coordinating with senior professionals internally and externally on significant projects.
  • Prior experience in the defence sector is highly valued.
