About the Company
SET ACTIVE is dedicated to creating forward-thinking athleisure wear designed for everyday movement, seamlessly blending style and function. Rooted in community culture, the brand aims to offer clothing that transitions effortlessly from active moments to all-day wear while empowering confidence and ease.
Role Overview
This Copywriter role combines brand strategy, creative concept development, and editorial storytelling. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in shaping campaign messaging that resonates emotionally and culturally with the audience, reflecting SET's unique voice and vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop SET's written identity across all customer touchpoints by setting editorial standards that ensure consistent brand communication across campaigns, product launches, retail, social media, e-commerce, public relations, partnerships, and internal communications.
- Translate marketing launches into coherent, compelling messaging frameworks by collaborating closely with Brand and Creative teams early in the concept phase to influence narratives, positioning, and storytelling strategies.
- Craft copy for diverse channels including organic social media, emails, SMS, websites, product descriptions, paid marketing, retail experiences, event materials, partnership campaigns, founder communications, PR content, internal launch documents, and special assignments, adeptly switching between brief headlines and extensive campaign narratives.
- Develop a distinct linguistic style by managing naming conventions for collections, colors, fabrics, products, campaigns, retail activations, and brand initiatives, contributing to a recognizable editorial voice prior to visual branding.
- Stay engaged with evolving trends in fashion, design, internet culture, language, and consumer behavior to inject relevant cultural insights and unique perspectives into creative work, prioritizing meaningful cultural relevance over fleeting trends.
- Serve as the editorial quality gatekeeper by reviewing and refining company-wide copy, maintaining brand guidelines, auditing critical customer interface content, and creating tools to enhance consistent communication across the organization.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 3 to 5 years of experience in copywriting, preferably in-house within direct-to-consumer fashion, beauty, or lifestyle brands that maintain a strong editorial voice.
- Exhibits exceptional writing skills showcased through a portfolio demonstrating storytelling capabilities for campaigns as well as sharp, memorable short-form copy.
- Has a keen editorial sense with an intuitive grasp of tone, rhythm, subtlety, and effective language use, recognizing when writing is polished and natural versus forced.
- Is deeply knowledgeable about fashion, design, culture, media, and internet trends, with a strong sense of enduring relevance.
- Can consistently adapt a singular brand voice across various formats, from social media captions and product descriptions to campaign narratives and executive communications.
- Highly collaborative and motivated by creative problem-solving, enjoying teamwork with designers, marketers, strategists, and leadership to build impactful ideas.
- Strongly organized with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, launch-focused environment.
- Demonstrates curiosity and initiative, regularly contributing beyond assigned tasks with fresh cultural references and new ideas.
