Role Overview
The Apparel Designer will be part of the Product Design team, helping shape SET Active’s seasonal direction through refined, trend-aware product execution. Working alongside the Senior Product Design Lead and the Product Development team, this person will turn seasonal themes, market trends, and brand identity into athleisure designs that make sense commercially.
This position suits a highly creative professional who pays close attention to detail, has a strong background in activewear, and brings excellent CAD capabilities along with a polished sense of modern product aesthetics.
Design Execution
- Create CADs and concept designs based on guidance from the Senior Product Design Lead.
- Bring seasonal ideas to life across silhouettes, colors, fabrics, and product details.
- Help build and refine seasonal assortments.
- Contribute to color stories, prints, and other core seasonal design elements.
Trend and Market Research
- Monitor trends in athleisure, activewear, and lifestyle apparel on an ongoing basis.
- Help identify competitors and track relevant market movements.
- Turn trend findings into practical design directions under leadership guidance.
Collaboration and Development
- Work closely with Product Development to make sure the design vision carries through sampling and production.
- Support early inclusion of trims, branding, labels, and construction details in the design process.
- Take part in design reviews and revise work based on feedback from leadership.
Product Execution and Brand Alignment
- Keep designs aligned with the brand’s aesthetic, seasonal direction, and cost goals.
- Maintain visual and design consistency across collections and product groups.
- Prepare CADs and presentation materials for leadership review.
Qualifications
- 3 to 7+ years of experience in apparel or activewear product design, ideally within athleisure, performance, or lifestyle brands.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and CAD creation.
- Good working knowledge of garment construction, textiles, trims, and the full product development process.
- Ability to translate creative direction into product that is viable in the market.
- Experience contributing to seasonal design work from concept through production.
- Strong understanding of activewear trends, silhouettes, and customer behavior.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, collaborative, and feedback-oriented environment.
- Strong communication and visual presentation abilities.
