About the Role
A partner of The Mom Project in the automotive sector is looking to engage a contract Paralegal to support its legal operations. The paralegal will assist attorneys by conducting thorough legal research, investigating facts, and drafting various legal documents essential to proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal correspondence and documents such as summonses, complaints, motions, responses, and subpoenas under supervision.
- Conduct research on legal precedents and review relevant legal publications to support case preparation.
- Assist attorneys by gathering employment, medical, and related records pertinent to legal cases.
- Support document preparation for court filings and submissions.
- Attend client interviews, hearings, depositions, and other legal meetings, taking comprehensive notes.
- Maintain organization of legal files, law libraries, and case documentation.
- Process a variety of legal documents including summonses, subpoenas, complaints, appeals, motions, and pretrial agreements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent specialized training.
- Zero to two years of practical experience in a related legal role.
- Basic understanding of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, and legal processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently with effective time management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working Hours and Location
- Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Fully remote work arrangement.
Compensation and Benefits
A competitive salary is offered, typically aligned with the median of the salary range based on candidate experience and qualifications. Contractor benefits are available through a third-party Employer of Record after completion of eligibility waiting periods.
