Overview
A partner company within the automotive sector is seeking a contract Paralegal to provide essential legal support services. The role involves assisting attorneys by undertaking legal research, investigating facts, and preparing various legal documents critical to legal proceedings.
Key Duties
- Draft and prepare legal correspondence and documents such as summonses, complaints, motions, responses, and subpoenas under the supervision of attorneys or senior paralegals.
- Conduct thorough legal research and review relevant legal journals.
- Support attorneys by gathering employment, medical, and other records pertinent to cases.
- Help prepare legal documents for submission to courts.
- Participate in client interviews, hearings, depositions, and other legal meetings, taking detailed notes.
- Maintain organization of legal documents, law libraries, and case files.
- Process a variety of legal documents including complaints, appeals, motions, subpoenas, and pretrial agreements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or comparable professional training.
- Experience range from entry-level up to two years in a related role.
- Fundamental understanding of legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, and the legal process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and high organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage customer service and interpersonal interactions effectively.
- Capable of working independently while managing time efficiently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Work Schedule and Benefits
- Workweek is Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours weekly.
- This position is fully remote.
