Position Overview
The Cashier role is vital in delivering prompt, friendly, accurate, and secure customer service. Cashiers handle checkout and return transactions, oversee the Self-Checkout area, and actively enhance their product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively and identify selling opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Process checkout and return transactions efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout stations to ensure smooth operations.
- Continuously improve product and project knowledge to inform and assist customers better.
- Adhere strictly to policies and procedures to reduce loss and shrinkage.
Additional Role Details for Head Cashiers
- Coordinate Cashier positions and support them by expediting price verifications.
- Authorize Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental sections.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for resolving customer issues.
- Assist with the supervision, mentoring, and training of Front End Associates.
- Participate actively in training new Cashiers and use available resources to develop team capabilities.
Preferred Experience
A minimum of one year of experience working as a Cashier is preferred for Head Cashiers.
